Rust is in the bottom of my LG washing machine and there is no way to remove it. I bought the washer and dryer in July of 2018. Per Wikipedia LG has an environmental record. It says since there is no strong water flow in top loaders (at bottom of tank) so the flakes stick and as the weight deposits increases (not sure what that even means, lol) they come off and get into laundry.
